The monument in Prostřední Čeladná commemorates the teacher and poet Josef Kalus, known as the “Wallachian Nightingale”. He worked here from 1889 to 1925 and in his poetry celebrated the beauty of the Beskydy Mountains and Wallachian tradition.
The exhibition includes a period school classroom and teacher’s room, as well as the nature and history of the region, including the partisan resistance. Seasonal exhibitions of regional artists are held in the cellars.
