Čeladná

Čeladná is a picturesque village surronded by the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy mountaing range. Most of the village landscape is mountauinous and forested. The village was probably founded in the 14th century. However, the first written record od the existence of Čeladná in the Hukvaldy domain Village Register from 1581 dates back to the end of 16th century. The exact origin of its name is not known, it could possibly have its roots as a mounats pass tollgate. The original Wallachian settlement was enlarged to serve the demands of the industries of metallurgy, extraction of raw materials, charcoal manufacturing in the 17th and 18th centuries as well as weaving and wool processing. Two rivers - the Čeladénka and the Ondřejnice - and numerous crystal clear brooks rich in trout flow through the village.

The beautiful countryside of the magnificient 9 kilometre-long Čeladénka river valley in the direction of Podolánky, as deep as 700 metres in parts, is a true natural treasure. In the northern populated part of the village there is the church of St.John of Nepomuk, the elementary school and the nursery. In the North-Western part of the former Skalka spa you can find the Beskydy Rehabilitation Centre providing post-operative therapy for heart surgery patients and those recovering from strokes.

In its surroundings is is possible to co cycling, hiking, swiming in the river, and in future we plan to build a water park. Under the Stolová mountain there is the Prosper Golf Club. You can find a 27-hole golf course with a 9-hole annex, driving range with sheltered shoots of up to 260 metres. You can also visit the nearby stables and the riding-school, which offers indoor riders. The business zone is situated in the Northern part of the village.

A new square has been built in the centre of Čeladná, with tens of flats, shops and a hotel. The spa tradition from 1902 has been followed by the Beskydské rehabilitation centre together with the newly built Lara Wellness centre. Also due to the top golf courses with 36 holes, Čeladná belongs to the most visited places of the Northern Moravia. We believe that Čeladná captures your heart and you will happily come back or it will even become your new home.
